- Carrie Hosman is one of this year's recipients of ASA Health Policy & Statistics Section's (HPSS) student paper competition. The award will support Carrie's participation to JSM this summer, where she will present her work. (01/09)
- Yizao Wang, recipient of a Rackham International Student Fellowship. The Rackham International Student Fellowship assists outstanding international students, particularly those who may be ineligible for other kinds of support because of citizenship. Awards of $7,500 may be used as stipend or tuition.
- Two of our students are receiving ENAR (Eastern North American Region, International Biometric Society) Distinguished Paper Awards.

- Congratulations to Herle McGowan who is the 2007-08 recipient of Rackham’s Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award. This award is designated to honor Graduate Student Instructors who have demonstrated exceptional ability and creativity as teachers and service as mentors and advisors to their students and colleagues.
- Professor Ji Zhu was recently awarded a Faculty Early Career Development Award from the National Science Foundation, which the
agency describes as its highest award for new faculty. The award provides five years of funding to stimulate the early development of academic careers in science and engineering and to support the critical roles played by faculty members in integrating research and education.
- Congratulations to Adam Rothman who has been chosen to receive the pretigious Yahoo PhD Student Fellowship. Adam is one of four exceptional PhD students selected to receive this competitive award.
